I do appreciate the glove humor. To be honest I've been off my tree hugging
game for the last 2 weeks. I usually rock the travel mug. There is something
appealing about the disposable cup I must admit. Nice video.

I think you should do a video on that too Mareina. Maybe to emphasize your point you could bring an empty tupperware container and scrape the extra cream cheese into it while you're still at the counter. Then be sure to thank them for their generosity & let them know you're planning to use the extra cheese on your sandwiches for the rest of the week ;)

PS. Thx for letting me use your photo!

Glenn,
I think little things are the biggest deals. Obviously Tim Horton's is a busy place and you're looking for convenience when going through the drive through, but that extra step only takes a couple seconds. I like jcwalls idea of re-using sleeves! We reuse coffee trays here at work since they seems pretty stingy on those too.

The one thing that bothers me about Tim Horton's, every time I order my bagel they just slosh the cream cheese in a big ball and squish my bagel together..... it takes one second to spread it on the bagel, and they are wasting cream cheese by doing it the fast way because I have to scrap off about a tsp every time i order it! Just my little peeve.

Wow, (back at you), I can't believe you can remember what you ordered the first time you went to Starbucks. I've tried a number of different types there, but haven't liked any. Maybe I'll have to try again (being that you're so amped on the place). You'll have to share your tips on what to order. :)

WOW. First, I disagree with your assertion that the 'other place' that sells coffee serves "burnt & bitter...coffee for the same price as a small meal". The same people have been saying the same thing for years and market share tells me that more of the population thinks like me than they think like you on that topic. Unlike Tim Hortons, Starbucks has many different kinds of coffee. So try another one.

I agree whole heartedly with the rest of this though...which is exaclty why I go to Starbucks. Not even working there for 3 years has soured me on the company; their commitment to providing every customer with the best experience is a model more businesses need to follow. Not only do I buy their coffee (because I do like the taste, I enjoy the customer experience, and have cultivated relationships with the employees at most locations within a 10 mile radius of my home), I buy books on their business model to use for my own businesses. The company didn't advertise for years, but relied on word of mouth. That tells me a lot.
You're right; the little things really DO matter.
PS-My very first Starbucks experience? Your wife took me for Hazelnut steamed milk:)

Jeffrey, you are an honourable man. Not sure I've progressed to the level of tree hugging that I should. And you're right sleeves are reusable. I like that idea too. The next time I go through Timmy's I'll try and bring my own reusable sleeve as I'm sure that will be a bit more of a subtle cue than an oven mitt. Unfortunately I may not get that a "wooah" reaction like I did from the last guy though. ;)

The sleeve is extra cardboard. Mo money. Mo trees.

That place with the "burnt & bitter" coffee will put a sleeve on it every time. they also reward you with 10% off if you bring your own cup. I don't need a sleeve for my travel mug.

Also, I can reuse a sleeve pretty easily if I think about it. I could reuse a sleeve a million times.
